The Angry Man Origin Story

WARNING: This post may bristle some feathers!

Over the last year and a half, I have been struggling to determine what my next step forward in my career should be.

For 14+ years, I worked in Clinical Research and loved the work I did. I received my Masters in Clinical Research from NYU in 2013 and was dedicated and passionate about the field from the start. I felt like I was helping people, making a difference, and progressing medicine. In October 2024, I was fortunate enough to be able to take a step back from work in order to care for my youngest son after he was born. It was an incredible time and I got to be a full-time, stay-at-home Dad. I loved every second of it (it is extremely hard!).

The Return

After about a year, I decided I would start to look for a new job and transition back into my original field of work. Hundreds of applications, recruiters, scam jobs, ghost jobs, and dead leads later it became clear that the industry I once loved was no longer looking for passionate, educated, and experienced people to continue to push medical science. They needed bodies that were push buttons, look the other way, not ask questions, and keep their mouths shut types. This industry had changed and clearly for the worse. One company even told me I wasn't "feminine" enough for the role—which feels offensive somehow to both me and women…?

I was/am angry. I was/am pissed. By not being able to return to my field, I lost my ability to help others, which is what I was born to do.  Something I loved was taken from me and put me in an impossible position; stay in what I am educated and passionate about in a toxic and impossible environment, or start over?

The Pivot

After a few months of being angry, I decided I'd start over and pivot. I’ve become quite handy over the years. So, when I came across TaskRabbit in April of 2026, I decided to give it a try. And, it changed my life. It has allowed me to do handyman jobs from lawn work to mounting TVs to restoring old furniture. Not only do I now have a job and purpose, I found out I am great at it! I'm currently ranked in the 94% of all Taskers in the Denver area with a 100% five-star review rating.

Suddenly, my path has become clear. On July 17th, 2026 I launched my wood crafting and handyman business, Angry Man Crafting & Services, LLC. I have clients outside of TaskRabbit that are helping spread my services, and I'm growing rapidly. I'm being shown that I have a path forward. That I have a purpose. That I matter. That I can still do something great.

The New Start

I'm done being angry. I'm ready to start turning that anger into something beautiful. Whether it be crafting a custom-made box or helping someone organize their garage because they have a bad back, I have found a new way to help people!

If you’ve gotten this far and you're wondering why you're still reading, here is the takeaway: don't get stuck in a place that feels impossible or makes you angry.

Pivot.

Don't let people tell you that "you're not doing enough" or "you're not good enough".

No amount of manifesting, journeying, or therapy can resolve that feeling of failing impossibly (trust me I tried). Impossible situations are impossible, and you're not responsible for "failing" to solve them. You're capable of doing something better, and I believe in you!

If you are in the greater Denver/Northern Colorado area and looking for a fix or long-term support for any household/office/yard needs, feel free to visit my services page, or DM me @angrymancrafting, and connect with me today!

Don't get angry. Get an Angry Man!

One final note, a HUGE thank you to my wife Bryn for her amazing contribution and assistance helping me start up the business (and designing my logo!). Her belief in me gave me the confidence I needed to let go and be better.

Let’s get to work!
